Additional Support Services

  • All students who do not have a savings /checking account with be assisted in opening one and taught basic banking skills. Skills will include balancing a checkbook, budgeting and savings

  • All students will have access to nutritious food in the workroom and the opportunity to consult with a volunteer social worker if they need assistance with food insecurity.

  • Students preparing to transition from our apprenticeship program into their careers will receive support in building a portfolio/resume and be connected to potential job opportunities. Additionally, each student will have the opportunity to speak to a social worker to help navigate any challenges and provide emotional support during this transition.

  • All students are offered Maryland Transit Assistance Charm Cards

  • All students will have the opportunity to meet with a social worker who can assist them in accessing any government services they qualify for, such as Medicaid, Food Stamps, and Disability. They will also receive support in transitioning away from these services as they become financially independent.
