Internships Available

We are still looking to fill our internship spots. These are unpaid internships but we will work with your colleges for school credits. The following is a list of positions available and their responsibilities.

Child Care Intern

All Rest Your Head students are offered free child care while in class. Interns will assist in all aspects of child care while parent is in school. Interns will also help with scheduling of care, donation management, safety measurements, and collaboration with our Dare to Dream program directors for perspective candidates for their program .

Job Placement Services Intern

Rest Your Head will be offering assistance with job placement for anyone in need. We will offer this service one day a week by appointment and walk -in when available. Interns will assist in registration, scheduling, updating of job opportunities in our database, mailings, operations.

Volunteer Management Intern

Rest Your Head is a 100% volunteered run organization. Interns will assist in the complete management of all volunteers in our organization; day to day volunteers, additional services volunteers, Creative Trade Instructor volunteers, Dare to Dream Volunteers, etc.

Operations Management Intern

Rest Your Head is a brand new nonprofit with lots of moving parts. Interns will assist operations management team in all the day to day necessities to keep us running.

Creative Trades School Admissions Intern

Rest Your Head offers 4 trades schools to our students. School of Upholstery and Furniture Restoration, School of Sewing, School of Carpentry and School of Computer Science. Interns will assist with the registering and interview process of all applicants for our schools. As students move through the skills classes, interns will assist with the updating of each students files. As our students move into our paid apprenticeship, interns will assist scheduling studio time, management of custom orders, and the updating of our databases.

Website/Social Media Intern

Rest Your Head’s main source of advertising and public awareness is through social media and our website. We also sell on our online store through our website. Interns will assist the website/social media team with promoting events, posting insights into issues touching our low income and homeless populations, continually updating our website, publicly introducing our students who have entered the apprenticeships and promoting their skills and promoting our mission. Interns will also assist with the management of our online store by photographing new products and adding and deleting products on the website.

Dare to Dream Program Intern

Rest Your Head sister program to our Creative Trades Program, we fund children of our students to “dare to dream” by funding extra curricular activities they wish to participate in. Interns will assist the Dare to Dream team with the management of this program; registration, assessment of needs, connections with a sponsor, management of transportation and equipment needs, assistance with registration of activity.

Event Planning and Fundraising Intern

Rest Your Head is dependent of the generosity of others to support its cause. Interns will assist the event/fundraising committee in all aspects; planning the event, creating promotional material, organizing logistics, etc.
